HelpfulOnes: Because No One Should Die Just Because They’re Poor

It’s hard to lose someone you love. A mother. A child. A friend. A life that could have been saved—if only help had come in time. At HelpfulOnes, we believe that no one should die simply because they can’t afford medical care. That’s why we work across Australia, Africa, and beyond—to support hospitals, save lives, and bring hope where it’s needed most. From Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation to clinics in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, and other countries, we step in where poverty puts lives at risk.

“If you are not in someone’s shoes, you won’t know the pain the person is feeling.” – Ms. Alice Smith

Every day, families lose loved ones because they cannot pay for urgent surgery, pregnancy care, or emergency treatment. But together, we can change that. Be a “HelpfulOne.” Help us save lives. Your donation helps us:

  • Provide emergency care for mothers and babies.
  • Fund surgeries and treatments for those who cannot afford them.
  • Support hospitals and medical staff in underserved communities.
  • Bring medical hope to children fighting for life.

Health is a human right—not a privilege. Together, we can make sure no one suffers in silence. You can be the reason someone survives. Donate today. Share the message. Become a HelpfulOne. Let’s stand with every mother, child, and family in need.

Let’s bring health, dignity, and life to those forgotten by the system.

Sydney Children's Hospital

Sydney Children’s Hospital is a beacon of hope and healing, where innovative medicine meets compassionate care, creating a sanctuary for children and a cornerstone of pediatric healthcare in Australia. By collaborating and supporting the needs within NSW, we can highlight the incredible work of hospitals like Sydney Children’s, which continue to make a positive impact on the lives of many in our local community here in Sydney as well.

St Joseph's Hospital - Ukana-Iba

St. Joseph’s Hospital Ukana-Iba is a humble facility located in a disadvantaged community, yet its resilience serves as a source of inspiration. Despite the challenges, the hospital has developed innovative solutions for low-income families and children with disabilities, tirelessly striving to meet the needs of its many patients, most of whom require complex surgeries. However, it faces significant funding issues, and improvements could be made with regular supplies and resources.

When we think of aid, it often brings to mind manpower, but the reality is that there is so much more involved. In times of emergency, the need for medicine and medical equipment becomes critical. Take, for example, the remarkable work at hospitals like Ikuna Iba. In this facility, practitioners collaborated closely with local craftsmen in their small Delta State community to develop makeshift medical chairs for children suffering from neurological disabilities and those unable to walk. This initiative not only showcased the ingenuity of the community but also highlighted the importance of resourcefulness in providing care where resources are limited.

By partnering with hospitals like Ikuna Iba, we aim to ensure that essential medical support reaches those who need it most. Whether it’s through the provision of medicine, equipment, or innovative solutions like these makeshift medical chairs, our goal is to empower healthcare providers to deliver effective, compassionate care to all, regardless of the challenges they face.
